Mirabilis Grande Reserva White 2015
The Mirabilis Grande Reserva White 2015 is the first national white wine to enter the distinctive list of the best wines in the world. This complex and intense wine reached 94-96 points by the prestigious critic Robert Parker, alongside with names like the Domaine de la Romané Conti, Chapoutier Hermitage Guigal, Pape Clement and the famous Champagne Krug.
The Mirabilis Grande Reserva White 2015 is now an international reference, achieving the level of the so-called great classic wines, with deep and high character and a quality considered "oustanding".
Mark Squires, the taster of Robert Parker for Portugal refers to the excellence of this wine and emphasizes its uniqueness expressed by its consistency over the years, advising ageing and consume between 2017-2030. According to Jorge Alves, the winemaker of Quinta Nova, "this is a wine with an unusual complexity, with a balance between wood and soft fruit, but deep, showing some granitic salinity and immense spices such as cloves. It is a three-dimensional wine, tense and with great concentration, at the world’s best level."
This wine contains more then 70% of old vines with over 85 years of age, most from small farmers with production between 500 and 1,500 kg, as well as the best Viosinho and Gouveio than Quinta Nova is keen to reserve. The origin of this wine excellence are also the grapes grown above 500 meters altitude in the Douro, an aspect that introduces a cooler, mineral and fine aftertaste.
