Staying in the manor house of Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo enables guests to feel the ambience of a large Portuguese family home, surrounded by the valley’s spectacular scenery along a 1.5 km stretch of the Douro River, in one of the most emblematic zones of the region.
Here the real luxury is the ambience of the manor house, located next to the original winery, built in 1764. It offers a unique setting, defined by the historic vine terraces that span the different buildings, including a small chapel. The sophisticated and welcoming comfort of the communal areas has been carefully designed so that guests feel that they are the main protagonists, offering the ideal place to relax and enjoy life, sample some exquisite wines and calmly enjoy genuinely delicious food in the Terraçu's restaurant that guarantees an excellent service, marked by an attentive and knowledgeable team.
With a unique setting overlooking the Douro River, the 11 rooms offer spectacular views over the centuries-old terraced vineyards - a breath taking landscape. In the morning guests are welcomed at a huge farm table with a delicious traditional breakfast. The interior spaces include the winter room ( Winter Garden) and small private game rooms, which are only available to guests. The gardens are surrounded by centuries-old trees, cypresses and native plants that invite visitors to take a dip in the small pool overlooking the vineyards and visit the calm and picturesque chapel built in 1795. During the stay, it is also possible to take an invigorating walk along the three routes signalled in the Estate, spanning eight kilometres, which offer the chance to experience the true spirit of the region.
